The "Living" Cross

Every year (for over 10 years now) our church tries to depict the scene of Good Friday on our church lawn. We will be representing the crucifixion again this year. We have 3 men on the three crosses. We have women who are mourning and Roman Soldiers. The first time people see it, they say it takes their breath away. I love this opportunity to show the community the real meaning of the season. We get such varied responses from people. Some are moved to tears; some curse; some stand in awe; some bring gifts; one little girl brought a flower; some people are puzzled by it all. One year a young lady who looked to be about 16 or 17 drove up in her car, rolled down her window and asked me (I was standing there) what was going on. She had no idea what Easter was all about. I had the joy and privelege of telling her! I hope I get the opportunity to share with someone again this year. If you are in the St. Louis area, come on by Dorsett Village Church (dorsettvillagechurch.com) this Friday night. We start around 7:30 in the evening and go until around 9:30 or 10:00 (depending on the weather). The above picture was taken at one of our "Living Crosses" from a couple of years ago. I hope to see you this Friday!
(P.S.....if you think about it, please pray for good weather on Friday; some years it is so cold and rainy - I'm hoping it won't be that way this year!)

I was walking on the levee surrounding the colonia Diez de Mayo. In the distance I could see a nun and a group of kids carrying a cross. They will be depicting the whole story tomorrow. From the Lord's Supper to the crucifiction. I took some pictures to show you. They do it every year. They will not have to worry about the weather down here
